All About My Senses!

Assalamu Alaykum Dear Parents 🙂

What an eventful week we’ve had mashaAllah! This week was all about the Five Senses and I must say we had a lot of fun exploring them.

By the end of the week, children referred to our five senses as “Super Powers” given to us by Allah (SWT) 🙂

Lets ‘Touch’ upon our week…

Circle Time

In circle time this week, We watched educational videos on Five senses. We then had a discussion after each video about what we saw and learnt. Alhumdulillah children really seemed to grasp an understanding of the Five senses by the end of the week.

We had so much fun during our “Senses Circle time”. Ustadha had a bag of items to experience different senses as we took turns to see, hear, smell, touch and taste too!

“When I was a Baby”…This week children bought in baby pictures of themselves. We compared each child’s baby picture to what they look like now. The purpose of this activity was for children to observe all about their growth. We explored the differences in their senses from when they were babies to now.

Islamic Studies

We continued to practice our previous duas and surahs.

This week we learnt the dua for coming out of the toilet, “GHUFRAANAKA”.

Please practice the duas and surahs we learn in the class to help embed it in their minds inshaAllah.

We continued to learn the Islamic months in Arabic.

We practice our Salah in the classroom and have Jamaats together.

Please encourage your child to join you when you stand for your prayer. Not only will that be an enjoyable bonding experience for both of you, it will also build love for Salah in their hearts.

Next Week…

Our topic next week will be ALL ABOUT MY BODY.

We will be continuing “When we were Babies” series next week too as it was a hit with the children. So, I request parents to please send in baby pictures of your children if you have not done so already.
