- This event has passed.
Each class will be representing a different country from across the globe. This day serves as an opportunity for us to teach our children about different cultures throughout the world that they may not be familiar with.
This year the countries that will be represented are:
• Brazil (Nursery)
• Japan (Reception)
• Denmark (Year 1)
• Sri Lanka (Year 2)
• Nigeria (Year 3)
• Hawaii (Year 4)
• Colombia (Year 5)
• Palestine (Year 6)
Children are invited to come into school on International Day dressed in the traditional dress of their class’s country or of the colours of the country’s flag.
The day will kick off with an International Day breakfast buffet. Children are welcome to bring in a dish of traditional food from their own culture to share with their class. It would help us greatly if any food brought into school has a clearly labelled ingredient list and a description of where it is from in the world. Please remember that no nut products are allowed in the school.
There will be a variety of activities taking place throughout the day, including a treasure hunt, arts and crafts, food tasting, map work, listening to stories from other cultures and much more.
Finally, we are still collecting for the Water Well project, please encourage your child to donate generously on International Day JazakaAllah. Alhumdilillah, we have enough money for two wells but would like to hit our target of three wells by the end of this term.
We hope that this day will be a success, InshaAllah. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.
