We have had a wonderful week in Year 6 where we have continued to work hard across all subjects and pupils have been showing a great positive attitude in the classroom. Long may this continue Insha’Allah.
During English we have been working on Instructions and the importance of instructions in relation to life skills. Additionally pupils have written a creative story based on instructions and showing how instructions can be used in story writing. Year 6 seemed to enjoy completing this task and have produced some outstanding work.
In Maths, we have been continuing with understanding the importance of Place Value and how to use RUCSAC when answering word problem questions. RUCSAC is an acronym for Read, Understand, Choose, Solve, Answer and Check. How this assists pupils is shown below.
For Topic we have continued with our learning of Global warming and all pupils have produced some amazing fact-files explaining the effects of global warming and what we can do as a country to try and negate the effects of global warming. Pupils in Year 6 have shown great passion towards this topic and this can clearly be seen in their work. Some of their work is shown below.
It is also important to note homework is given out by myself 3 times a week. Pupils should make sure they are bringing in their homework books at all times and that homework is completed on time. The days on which homework is given out and are due are as follows: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
