Message From Head Teacher

Dear Parents,

Assalamu Alaikum

I pray that you are in the best of health and Iman.

This last half term the school focused on ‘Muslim Contributions to the World’ which culminated with the exhibition of the wonderful work the pupils had done. I’m sure those of you who attended will agree that the exhibition was a great success.

During White Ribbon Week, the children managed to raise a wonderful £87.85p. This will be forwarded to White Ribbon UK that supports victims of domestic abuse. Jazakallah for your support!

Year 2 had Sr Amirah for half a term who came in as short time cover. She did a wonderful job and is now going to be taken over by Sr Ayesha Khan from January 2019. Sr Ayesha has been with the school for around two years and is currently completing her HTLA course. She will have a full time TA to support her.

Sr Ruqaya Rahmoon has left us after 2 years. We pray for her and her family’s success. She will be taken over by Sr Urooj Rehman (lower school) and Sr Aqeela Tariq (upper school). Sr Aqeela has been with us for the past term already and Sr Urooj has been volunteering for over a month as a Quran/ IS teacher in preparation for her new role. Both have experience at teaching Quran and Islamic Studies in the Masjid.

Alhamdulillah, the school is trying to get full time TAs into the lower school to support our pupils, so they can achieve their potential.

  • Sr Salma Shaikh, who is a mother of one of our children has completed her Level 3 TA course and will be the full time TA for Year 1 from January 2019.
  • Sr Safah Sarwar will be the full time TA for Year 2.
  • Sr Memona Ahmed has been supporting pupils in a variety of classes over the past year, is going to be the TA in Year 3 in the mornings. Sr Memona is an experienced teacher with a PGCE.

Since September, we have started to use weekly class blogs as our preferred way to communicate with parents. This enables staff to send more focused messages more frequently rather than newsletters twice every half term. Please visit the school website and check out your child’s class blog.

If there is anything you would like to discuss about the items above or anything else, please don’t hesitate in contacting me on

Kind regards
Asif Ali
