Next week school will be closed for children as there will be on-going repair works inside the Masjid. This means that children will be off school for 2 weeks! While children maybe excited, it also means that we will be missing one week of learning. I would advise children to complete the homework given and to continue reading throughout the holidays and for parents to keep an eye out on the blogs for any updates.
This week in Science we learnt about mechanisms used such as pulleys, gears and levers which help us increase the amount of force we want to exert. Homework has been set for children to identify different mechanisms around their home or surroundings. In Topic, we learnt about the holocaust; it is a sensitive subject but the lesson was prepared for children in mind.
Finally, children were writing play scripts in English and we revised strategies for addition, subtraction, using the inverse, reasoning and solving some problems in Math.
I hope you have a great extended half-term,
