A big welcome back to you all. We hope you all had a wonderful half-term holiday. This term our theme will be ‘People who help us’, this involves all the incredible people that help us every day and whom we should be thankful for. This week we have been working on the story of the Jolly Postman and therefore our theme this week was postmen and postwomen, who work very hard to post our important packages and letters every day.
Let’s go through the week…
On Monday, we wrote about our holidays in our weekend news books and it was so nice to hear all the fun Reception had during their half-term holiday. We also opened our indoor post office and took turns running the post office and delivering packages.
On Tuesday, we all made our own rockets, the children cut out the shapes they needed for their rocket including squares and triangles. We then wrote numbers 20-1 and counted backward’s until we reached BLASTOFF!
On Wednesday, we wrote letters and went to our indoor post office to buy stamps and send off our letters.
On Thursday, we wrote some letters to Ustadh’s and Ustadha’s in the upstairs school including Ustadh Asif. We learned about writing addresses and how to send off a letter in a post box after this, we then delivered our letters to the school.
On Friday, we learned about Qiyam and the importance of this during our prayer, we also practiced the actions of our prayer. The children then worked on a colouring sheet so they can remember this when they begin to pray in sha Allah.
Alhumdulillah we have had another wonderful start to the term, we have set the children some homework to do over the weekend – please do your homework and bring it back on Monday morning. Please also take care of your reading books and ensure you read these at home.
Have a lovely weekend and see you all next week when we will continue with the story of the Jolly Postman.
