Week 3 in Year 3 🌈

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Dear Parents and Children,

It has been a fruitful week in Year 3!

Children are even more engaged and those who send work in regularly and reply to feedback, are working at a good standard mashaAllah. Surprisingly, some children have even improved, taking ownership of their learning and loving the fact that they self-mark their work! Please encourage your child to send work in everyday at least for the core subjects. We are absolutely sure that they are doing amazing work at home with your supervision!🌼

A pack has been given out today. The pack contains resources for GR, grammar, maths, geography and science, together with some coloured paper, stickers and a certificate. Children do not need to work on the pack by themselves. These are learning resources to support their online learning which they need to keep handy near their books and stationery.

Homework for Week 3 has been posted in Google Classroom. This week Aaminah won a certificate for doing her Homework and sending evidence. Congratulations! Who is going to be awarded next week?

This week in English, we have written a new intriguing opening for the Ice Palace and read a new exciting story called Kidnapped by Pie Corbett which we have boxed to understand the structure of adventure stories.

In Maths, we have completed our topic of adding and subtracting 2 and 3 2-digit numbers using partitioning and have started measurements.

The work we have seen in Maths is astounding. Some children have gone really far completing the differentiated levels plus the challenge! Mashallah!

We are still interlinking geography and science and the children seemed to be really passionate about geology and volcanology.

We leave you with some pictures of a worry box we have been making during our Wellbeing Wednesday, in PSHE. This week in fact we learn some vocabulary to express our feelings, the effect some actions can have on our body and on our mind and strategies to cope with our emotions.

Interventions have been different this week but they will resume as usual from Monday inshaAllah.

Jazakallahu kheirun for all your support.

Year 3 Team! 🌷
