Islamic Studies

In Year 1, we have been learning about the six pillars of imaan. We learnt about our belief in Allah and His angels. We learnt that Allah sees, hears, and knows everything.

In Year 2 we are continuing to learn the Seerah of prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). This week we learnt about the Year of the elephant, in which Abraha, the ruler of Yemen during the year of the birth of the prophet, set out to destroy the Ka’bah. We learnt how Allah sent a flock of birds to stop Abraha and his army from doing so, as mentioned in Surah al-Feel.

In Year 3, we are also continuing to learn about the Seerah. This week we learnt about the first migration to Abyssinia. We learnt about how the Muslims were treated harshly due to their religion; therefore the prophet told a group of them to go to Abyssinia in order to be able to practice Islam freely without being harmed by the Quraysh.
