Qa’idah/Qur’an
These are the Surahs we have been reciting this week in our Qur’an lessons:

This week in Year 1 we have continued to learn how our letters look at the beginning, middle and end of a word. In Year 2 we have been revising the sukoon and shaddah sounds, and have leart about the different types of madd this week.
These are the Surahs we are currently memorising:

Islamic Studies
In Year 2 we are continuing to learn the Seerah of prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). This week we learnt how Umar RA came to accept Islam. We learnt that Umar RA was strong and brave, and so him joining Islam also strengthened the Muslims of Makkah.
In Year 3, we learnt about halaal and haraam food, as well as the importance of saying bismillah at the time of slaughtering, in order for the meat to be halaal. We also looked at the importance of always checking the ingredients/label before we buy and eat the food.

Year 1:
- Qaidah pages 53 and 54
- Revise Surah al-Kafirun
- Memorise Surah al-Ma’un verses 1-3 – to be tested Thursday 15th June
Year 2:
- Qaidah page 118
- Revise Surah al-Zilzal – to be tested Thursday 15th June
- Workbook pages 118 and 119
Year 3:
- Read Surah at-Tahreem (28th juzz, Surah number 66)
- Memorise Surah al-Balad verse 1-4 – to be tested Thursday 15th June
- Workbook pages 122 and 123
Year 4:
- Read Surah az-Zukhruf
- To memorise a minimum of 5 lines from individual surahs – to be tested on Thursday 15th June
Year 5:
- Read Surah al-Ahzaab
- Memorise 5 lines of individual surah – to be tested on Tuesday 13th June
Year 6:
- Read Surah al-Anbiyaa
- Memorise 5 lines of individual surah – to be tested on Wednesday 14th June
