P.E last half-term was all about netball. Children learned the following skills and techniques:
-the pivot
-chest pass
-bounce pass
-dodging
-jump stop
-stride stop
We also covered the main rules of netball. The children have really enjoyed this sport and are keen to use their new skills in netball matches during break times.
Our history topic last half-term was Roman Britain. We started off last half-term by visiting the British Museum where children were able to look at and handle ancient Roman artefacts. In class, we studied the story of Romulus and Remus (the legendary founders of Rome). Children then retold the story using a storyboard. We looked at what Britain was like before the Romans and the reasons for the Roman invasion of Britain. We will continue this topic for a few more lessons inshaAllah. It also links well with our new geography topic ‘Volcanoes and Extreme Earth’ and the story ‘Escape from Pompeii’ which we will study in English.

In computing, we researched facts about the Romans and ancient Roman life. Children have been learning to present their research using Microsoft PowerPoint. We will continue to work on research and presentation skills in our computing lessons inshaAllah.
